Expiration of User Accounts

For security purposes as well as licensing/cost issues, the Office of Technology takes action to expire and delete unused accounts.   The following list indicates the types of accounts and their schedules for expiration and deletion:

 

Regular, Full Time Faculty = No expiration date.  Upon employee separation from the University, Supervisory Access procedures take effect.

 

Adjunct Faculty = Expires in early August each year.  Specifically, these account will expire one week after the last day of the summer session. 

 

Regular, Full Time Staff = No expiration date.  Upon employee separation from teh University, Supervisory Access procedures take effect.

 

Temporary Staff = Expire June 15 each year.

 

Graduate Assistants = Expire May 30 each year.

 

Student Workers = Expire May 30 each year.

 

Emeriti = Expire three years after last date of employment.  (Process for renewal is under review.)

 

External/Vendor = Expire June 30 each year.

 

Volunteer = Expire June 30 each year.

 

NOTE: Supervisors may request the expiration/deletion of accounts at any time, and should do so when an employee separates from the University before their account is scheduled to expire.  For example, if a student worker is expected to return for the Spring semester, but does not, his/her supervisor should submit an Computer Account Request Form to expire the account before the standard May 30 expiration date.
