JAMES MARRONE

PhD Candidate in Economics
University of Chicago

I study the intersection of economics and culture.
In my job market paper I develop a human capital model of cultural assimilation, and test the predictions with sociological survey data.

I also study markets for cultural objects, including a project using new data and novel statistical techniques to estimate the size and structure of black markets for art.
