Wellness involves the awareness of our current state of health in multiple dimensions with the initiative, tools and support to make lasting changes towards a more optimal life. Wellness is the pursuit of your best possible health and well-being. It is an overall balance of your physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, environmental, and occupational well-being. Health is a goal one can achieve while wellness is a dynamic concept that continues for a lifetime.

The Objectives of the UCFSD Wellness committee is to research and identify best practices related to improving student health. Through the use of various communication channels, the Wellness Committee will educate our students and community about health and wellness in order to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Brief History of Wellness in UCF

Upcoming Events

The UCFSD Wellness Committee is working to create awareness and conversation around the topic of the "iGen" generation. iGen is the first generation to spend their entire adolescence in the age of the smartphone. With social media and texting replacing other activities, iGen spends less time with their friends in person—perhaps why they are experiencing unprecedented levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness.

iGen is a highly readable and entertaining first look at how today’s members of iGen—the children, teens, and young adults born in the mid-1990s and later—are vastly different from their Millennial predecessors, and from any other generation.
