ABOUT U-PRISE and the Speaker Series

U-PRISE is a community forum for parents/guardians of students with special needs to share ideas and information, discuss programs, network with other parents and community resources, collaborate with administrators, ask questions, seek advice, and learn more about special education processes. The U-PRISE Speaker Series brings together subject matter experts with our community on important topics.

Medical Assistance

Virginia Covert, UCFSD Access Coordinator

Ginny Covert provided parents with information on what Medical Assistance is, how to apply for it, and how the School Based Access Program works.

Many students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) may be eligible for MA.  In order to establish that your child meets the standards, you would need to provide documentation such as medical reports, therapy reports, guidance counseling reports and Evaluation Reports (ERs) prepared by your physician, school district, intermediate unit or early intervention program with the application.
