3-minute thesis competition

Are you doing cutting-edge research in nanotechnology? Can you showcase your Ph.D. thesis in 3 minutes or less?


The University of Alberta Nanotechnology Group invites you to participate in a 3-minute thesis competition, modeled after the 3MT competition. The competition will take place on November 2, 2016 at 4 pm as part of a by-invitation-only nanotechnology workshop at the National Institute for Nanotechnology. This competition aims to hone your communication and presentation skills. Challenge yourself to summarizing your Ph.D. in a fun and approachable way. The judging panel will be made up of internationally-recognized researchers and leadership.  The winner will be awarded a cash prize, swag, and bragging rights. 


When: November 2, 2016 at 4 pm

Who: PhD. students/candidates doing nano related research

Where: Taylor Room, NINT Building, University of Alberta Campus

Format:  3 minutes, 1 slide - follow FGSR guidelines

Deadline: Oct 26, 2016 at noon
