A block of 50 dormitory style single rooms is available for conference attendees in Schäffer Hall for $69/night plus taxes. Part of the University of Alberta Lister Conference Centre, these bright and comfortable rooms have private washrooms, high speed internet* (requires Ethernet cable), and a work desk. Each room features windows that open and black-out blinds. Check-in is after 4:00 pm and check-out is by 11:00 am.

Schäffer Hall offers common areas featuring lounges with comfortable seating, cable television, and telephone service with free local calls on each floor, as well as kitchens and coin-operated laundry service. A mini-convenience store, The Marina, offers a wide variety of products and services and features some popular dining outlets such as Booster Juice, Pizza 73, and Tim Horton's. The Ship is a gathering place and leisure seating area connected to The Marina, featuring two large screen TVs and a pool table.

Local Transportation

Edmonton also has the Pogo CarShare program, which covers the university and Whyte Avenue areas. There is a $35 sign-up fee before you can use the service.

The conference organizers hope to arrange group travel by bus for attendees from cities such as Lethbridge, Calgary, and Grande Prairie.
