A Note on Empirics

Kessel, F.S., Rosenfield, P. L., & Anderson, N. B. (Eds.). Interdisciplinary research: Case studies from health and social science (2nd ed.) New York: Oxford University Press, 2008 warn that there is little empirical evidence on the value of graduate interdisciplinary education. Self-reports of students are positive, and there is some evidence that they produce high quality interdisciplinary dissertations.
