Mapping to Enhance Collaboration

Wayde C. Morse, "Integration of frameworks and theories across disciplines for effective cross-disciplinary communication," in Michael O’Rourke et al, Enhancing Communication and Collaboration in Interdisciplinary Research, Sage, July, 2013,244-69 discusses how concept mapping can aid interdisciplinary collaboration, discusses how this can be done, and provides examples. He suggests that a simple and iterative mapping exercise can focus collaborative research. The concept maps that each researcher brings can be melded into a shared map. One result is that collaborators understand each others' contributions and emphases.
