hope studies central

welcome to hope studies central!

Hope Studies Central is the only research unit in the world devoted to the study of hope in human living. For the past 29 years, researchers at Hope Studies Central including its Director, Dr. Denise Larsen, have investigated the role of hope within counselling psychology, education, and health contexts.

The field of hope research is vast, with research indicating that hope is associated with beneficial outcomes in physical and mental health, education, sports, and even business. A hopeful orientation, despite adversities faced, encourages active engagement in life and creative problem-solving.

All research taking place at Hope Studies Central focuses on practice, providing new information on how hope can be effectively applied.
