There are three labs in ECE332, Briefly, the goals of each lab are as follows:
To learn the characteristics of DC Motors
To understand the operation of 3-phase synchronous generators
To understand the operation of 3-phase induction motors
All 3 of the labs for ECE332 operate in a similar manner. You are required to read the relevant manual before the labs and fill out the pre-lab questionnaire. The answers to the Pre-lab questions can be obtained from the course webpage, datasheets and the lab manuals themselves. At the start of each lab, the instructor will review the relevant theory and safety issues. In each lab, you are required to take measurements from the equipment and record the results. After the lab you will be required to do some sort of Post-lab activity which would usually contain analysing the Results you obtained in the lab.
Labs are COMPULSORY
All labs have a Pre-lab that are due at the beginning of your scheduled laboratory session. The Pre-lab must be completed before you are allowed to participate in the laboratory experiments.
In terms of grading, all 3 of the labs are worth the same amount.
Lab Reports are due 1 week after you attend your lab section before 11:59pm. All reports need to be submitted to the appropriate link as a single pdf on eClass.
