Research Interests

  • Ordinary Differential Equations, Difference Equations, Impulsive Differential equations and its applications in some topics of mathematical biology (Bioprocesses, Epidemiology, Fisheries).
  • With Manuel Pinto, we are working in qualitative theory of DEPCAG (Differential Equations with Piecewise Constant Generalized Arguments) equations. In particular we are interested in dichotomies and roughness properties.
  • With Fernando Cordova-Lepe, we are working in a new type of Impulsive Differential Equations (its main property is that the k-th impulse is determined by the value of the state variables at the (k-1)-th impulse) and its applications in epidemiology and fisheries.
  • With Alvaro Castañeda,  we are working in some problems of topological conjugacy and Stability of nonautonomous quasilinear systems whose linear part satisfies a dichotomy property (we are focused in dichotomies more general than the exponential one).  

  • My Ph.D thesis (see also here) was devoted to the mathematical modeling of the competitive exclusion in a special type of bioreactor (the chemostat) and the introduction of feedback control laws in order to avoid the exclusion and promote the coexistence of two species. I worked under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Luc Gouzé  (see also here).
