Graduate Women Across Northwestern (GWAN) is an interdisciplinary organization that seeks to create community building opportunities for women in the graduate and professional programs at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. GWAN was founded in the fall of 2006 through the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management’s Women’s Business Association. We are funded by a Community Building Grant through The Graduate School. Moreover,
GWAN has three main objectives:
1) Broaden interdisciplinary relationships
2) Communicate the best practices and strategies for women across all fields
3) Create supportive social networks
We welcome all women in graduate or professional programs at Northwestern University. Past participants have come from Kellogg School of Management, McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, Medill School of Journalism, School of Communication School of Education and Social Policy, School of Law, School of Music, and Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.
