Welcome to Turkey Valley Preschool

Turkey Valley Preschool was awarded the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program Grant in 2010.  The Four-Year-Old Preschool was verified as an Iowa Department of Education Program in 2011.  Turkey Valley Preschool has been an Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS), Quality Rating System (QRS) Level 5 program since 2014.  (To learn more about Iowa DHS's Quality Rating System click here.)  The Three-Year-Old Preschool and Wrap Around Program were licensed as a DHS Child Care Center in 2015.

The The program's goal is to provide a high quality preschool program meeting each child's needs, including children with disabilities and those from diverse background.  The preschool provides a rich learning environment that encourages children's natural curiosity and supports them to take risks that lead to new skill development.  It is a setting where children feel safe, respected, and cared for.  This is an opportunity for all four-year-old children to take part in planned, active learning experiences to build their readiness skills.  The preschool program has adopted and meets the Iowa Quality Preschool Program Standards (IQPPS).  The Iowa Early Learning Standards are used to guide expectations for the children and instructional practices.
