Sunrise‎ > ‎

The Sunrise is Corona del Sol's student newspaper. It is produced entirely by students in Journalism 3-8.
The 2006-2007 staff earned a Pacemaker, a national award presented by the National Scholastic Press Association. The Pacemaker is widely considered to be the Pulitzer prize of scholastic journalism. Sunrise staff members have garnered a number of national and state individual awards as well.
In addition to producing the student newspaper, students in the journalism program have the opportunity to attend national conventions. The upcoming conventions are as follows:
November 2012 — San Antonio, Texas.
    April 2013 — San Francisco

The Sunrise staff is responsible for raising virtually all the funding it needs to print the newspaper. As a result, we are always accepting donations. Please consider giving a tax credit donation to the newspaper account. With a tax credit donation you will receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your state taxes. You can donate up to $400 if married, filing jointly, or up to $200 if single or married filing separately.
Please contact the adviser, Kris Urban, for other donation opportunities.
