My Family and I

This website is intended to help you keep track of your
work for AP Biology
and Honors Exercise Physiology.

Since as far back as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the world around me. As a kid I practically lived outside and was forever collecting beetles and frogs and things and trying to figure out how it all worked together. It was really no surprise to anyone that I wound up becoming a science teacher. And I'm not actually from Arizona... I grew up in Milwaukee, WI. I came to Arizona in 2005 to attend Arizona State University and study Kinesiology. During my time in the program I worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor and really began to live and breathe the subject. Working with a wide variety of personal training groups, teaching group fitness classes, and working one on one with specific individuals helped me develop a unique perspective on fitness and also sparked my interest in becoming a teacher. After graduating with my B.S. in Kinesiology I earned a M.Ed. in Secondary Ed. and Biology, and started teaching. As of May 2015, I am back at ASU, this time for my Ed.D. in Leadership and Innovation. My research is focused on transitioning science teachers to an inquiry-based approach to develop critical reasoning skills in high school students. I am thrilled to be at Corona del Sol teaching what I love, Exercise Physiology and AP Biology!
