Goal 1: Support the Development of PLCs


 Where are we now? What strategies will we use to bridge the gap?
How will we consistently engage staff in self, peer, and whole group reflection?
  • MP has clearly defined content PLCs
  • Collaborative environment
  • Weekly meetings to analyze data, including reflection
  • 2013-2014 Cadre training
  • Instructional conversations based on data from Common 
  • Formative Assessments
  • Re-establish norms at beginning of school year
  • Administer Critical Issues PLC survey
  • PLC goal setting based on survey results
  • Weekly reflection from PLCs based on survey goals and CFA
  • Continue data analysis and lesson plan revision
  • Incorporate Canvas, Learning Targets, and engagement strategies into instruction
  • Continuous feedback among admin, dept. chairs, PLC leaders
  • Individual and group analysis/reflection of 
  • Critical Issues PLC survey
  • Individual/PLC goal setting
  • Monthly meetings w/ admin liaison and PLC facilitator

Goal 2: Fully Implement the College and Career Ready Standards

  • Core departments have participated in Cadre training
  • Content PLCs have worked to implement AZCCRS in Math and English
  • All other departments have implemented Literacy Standards
  • PLCs working to align CFA to AZCCRS 
  • Continued district led PD for Cadres
  • Clear Communication of expectations
  • Weekly PLC meetings to analyze data and assess effectiveness of strategies
  • Peer-to-Peer conversations
  • Monthly meetings with admin liaison and PLC leaders
  • Non-core departments continue to implement Literacy Standards in all classes
  • Monthly meetings with admin liaison and content PLC leader to ensure implementation of appropriate Standards
  • Monthly meeting with admin liaison and all other PLCs leaders to ensure they are implementing Literacy Standards

Goal 3: Fully Implement the Use of Learning Targets into Daily Instruction

 Where are we now? What strategies will we use to bridge the gap?How will we consistently engage staff in self, peer, and whole group reflection?
  • LTs are a new concept for MP teachers
  • Content PLCs have collaborative working environment, open to new ideas
  • Key concept is that LTs written in student language
  • In the past teachers have written objectives on the board
  • Introduce concept to dept. chairs at summer retreat w/ continued PD
  • District led professional development
  • Clear communication of expectations for teachers 
  • Weekly PLC meetings to discuss best practices and development of LTs
  • Classroom observations to monitor progress
