In third grade we learn about the world around us through hands-on tasks, classroom resources, various technology devices, and conversation.

Science is the springboard for writing, reading, Social Studies, and math. Since math and science go hand-in-hand this is easy to incorporate. Science is the gateway for what we read and write in the classroom. Students gain knowledge about the scientific world around them and then write and read about it on a daily basis.

This year we will be using the district wide Everyday Math program. The program is aligned to the Common Core and will have a workshop approach model for teaching.
