Centennial Celebration

Troop 58 celebrated it's 100th birthday in with a celebration  on November 16, 2019 at the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post in Delmar.

Scheduled activities for that day included:

Scouting for food 

Pro Pinewood Derby (a derby for the entire family!)

Food, Celebration, Party, Dancing, Music

On November 16, 2019, Scout Troop 58 gathered at the
Nathaniel Adams Blanchard American Legion Post to
celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding. 

Over 150 people, including current and former Troop 58 Scouts, families, and supporters, attended a dinner commemorating this Centennial. Over the course of the Troop’s 100 year history, it has gone by many names. In the fall of 1919 when it was first formed, it was referred to as  “Troop 1 of Elsmere”. This name stuck until 1926 when it was renamed “Elsmere Troop 58”, which is what it is formally known as today. 

Many past alumni of the Troop gathered at the Legion, including current and former Eagle Scouts, and adult leaders. The celebration was made more memorable as Will Storrs received the rank of Eagle Scout during the celebration. 

This large anniversary would not have been possible without the dedicated commitment of our Sponsor, The NA Blanchard American Legion Post and the many adult leaders, especially Dr. Robert Herzog, and Mr. Mark Hansen, who orchestrated and promoted much of the evening’s activities.
