Open MediaHub Software

This page provides links to any and all software available for download.

Software provided as part of the Open MediaHub initiative is covered under the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL-1.0). The selection of this license may change if another, more appropriate license is recognized.

The intent is to provide an open license for the MediaHub software so that it
  • remains open and available to all interested in using it,
  • provides a way for the community at large to improve the Open MediaHub software,
  • does not restrict commercial use in any way, and
  • removes concerns of patent infringement regarding the core work.
Much of the software downloaded from this site is covered under the specified license unless copied from other sites. The other sites will be referenced when this is the case.

Recommended Firmware

DD-WRT Firmware is supplied under GPL 2. Refer to the DD-WRT web site for details. At present, Open MediaHub uses the DD-WRT firmware 'as is' with no modification to basic functionality. There are commercial versions of DD-WRT available which include additional features.

Cisco Linksys E4200: 19545-kingkong-nv60k-broadcom.bin (see File list below).
Additional 'Kong' releases can be found at Kong Release Repository.

Check out the DD-WRT Forum for information about releases for particular devices. The easiest way is to Google your particular device with 'dd-wrt' in the search. This will return pertinent threads with information regarding releases and caveats.

Open MediaHub Software

The Open MediaHub software can be found in the Open MediaHub Software Repository on GitHub. All software is covered by the CDDL unless otherwise indicated. The intent is to create an environment that allows broadcasters to send interesting and high quality content directly to the home without incurring ISP and CDN charges. The more robust and widely-deployed this software is, the better.
