This idea is based on the fact that the ICP interface defined between SQUID and its caches is a network interface. Thus, there can be multiple ICP-capable caches anywhere on the network accessible to the SQUID software. By adding a uPnP service to these caches, they could advertise their availability to the SQUID system without configuration.

Any equipment capable of receiving an ATSC 2.0 broadcast and containing significant storage capability could expose the uPnP service for ICP. In this way, any smart TV with storage could identify itself and connect into the MediaHub network.
