Trinity is a small parish affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of Southwestern Virginia. Services are held in a sanctuary built in 1842 which is maintained in pristine condition. Other facilities include a modern parish hall and kitchen, a wing containing the rector's office and church school rooms, a beautiful lawn with well maintained flower beds, a cemetery containing civil war era graves, and a new columbarium.
Buchanan is located alongside the James River between I-81 exits 156 and 162, at the southern entrance to the Shenandoah Valley. It boasts a vibrant downtown having two banks, a pharmacy, a nearby medical clinic, the historic Buchanan Theater, antique shops, and a canal era warehouse serving as a Community House. Annual festivals and activities are listed at the town website.
Shopping and cultural activities are plentiful in the neighboring cities of Roanoke and Lexington. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail are easily accessed from downtown.
