Subject: Trinity Tomorrow: A Comprehensive Strategic Plan 2013 - 2023

Dear Colleagues,

At their recent meeting in May, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the final draft of the Trinity Tomorrow Strategic Plan (posted below). The trustees asked me extend their appreciation for the hard work, creativity, patience, thoughtful revisions, and commitment to excellence that supported the plan’s creation. I know that this spirit will continue to guide our shared thinking and actions as we begin implementing the plan.

The strategic plan affirms our fundamental values and imagines a Trinity that is an even better university and an even more distinctive option for prospective students. To achieve the plan’s aspiration to “redefine the liberal arts experience,” the four Strategic Objectives build on and coordinate many of the strengths of Trinity. The four Strategic Foundations make it possible for Trinity to achieve the Strategic Objectives.

In addition to the attached plan, in May, the Board also approved draft assessment metrics (attached) that the campus community will continue to hone when we begin the implementation process this fall. More information will follow when we return to campus.

Almost three years in the making, the plan has been strengthened by thoughtful deliberation from all members of the Trinity community – faculty, staff, current students, trustees, and alumni.

I look forward to continuing to work with all of you.
