Syllabus/Grading

Grades in this course will be based solely on attendance. Because the class has to be virtual this semester, attendance will be judged by short quizzes that will be posted on T-Learn asking questions about the talk. These will be put up shortly after the talk is given each week. Video recordings of the talks will be posted in a Google Drive folder that I will share with the roster. Some employers have policies that will only allow these videos to remain up for a week or so. As such, you need to make sure that if you have to watch a video after the talk is given, you need to do it fairly soon after the talk. Because talks can be watched later, the attendance policy is being modified from previous years.

• Excused absences: (These would only apply is somehow they prevented you from watching a recording for 5+ days.)

  • • University-sponsored activities

    • Religious holidays

    • Illness with a note from doctor or clinic.

    • Funeral services for a member of the immediate family

• Each unexcused absence reduces your grade by one letter grade.
