About Mr. Prekopy (professional)


Mr. Edward Prekopy has been teaching since 1997. He began his career in education at Tecumseh South Elementary School in The Shawnee Heights District. During his time there, he taught second, third and sixth grade. In 2003 he joined Scott Magnet School in USD 501 as a Math Intervention Specialist. 2005 brought a move to Landon Middle School, where he continues to teach today.

While at Landon, Mr. Prekopy has taught all subject except Social Studies to sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. For the last four years he has taught various sections of Keyboarding and Computer Applications.

Ed was born and raised in New York City. He moved to Topeka in 1983.

Mr. Prekopy and his family spent several months working in the Chapel Hill/ Raleigh North Carolina area before returning to Kansas.

He is married with three children. Two are attending college, and one is in High School.


Ed enjoys outdoor sports and activities. Traveling is an “addiction” and he has visited 42 of the 50 states,4 Canadian Provinces and 3 European countries.
