Welcome to Computer Science with Ms. Banzet ( 6th-8th grades)

I received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Emporia State University. I have an ESL endorsement. I have been teaching at French Middle School since 2001. I am a former student of French Middle School. I have taught reading, language arts, math, science, skills for adolescence, and computer applications.

CLASS PURPOSE

The purpose of our class is to work on coding and Project Lead the Way curriculum to enhance students' skills in the areas of STEM careers .

GRADING POLICY

Grades are based on a point system. All assignments and projects will be assigned points when instructions are given.

HOMEWORK and ABSENCES

Homework is defined as any assigned work not completed during the school day and/or an assignment specifically assigned to be completed outside of the school day. Since most of our projects are done using the Project Lead the Way curriculum, DO NOT EXPECT HOMEWORK IN COMPUTER CLASSES. When students are absent, they will make up their project upon their return to class. In some instances, if it is a prolonged absence, students may be excused from completing that project and an alternate one will provided upon their return to school.

HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS

• Homework will not count for more than 25% of the total grade.

• Late homework will be accepted up to one week prior to midterms and end of the quarter.

• No student will receive an F as a final grade because of homework.
