Dr. Laura Lyons

I have worked at Hope Street Academy since August 2004. I was the curriculum coordinator from August 2005 to May 2015. I am now a Project Coordinator at Hope Street. In addition to these roles, I have been the instructional coach and second in charge for several years. Prior to coming to Hope Street and Topeka Public Schools, I taught and was the building spokesperson at Youth Educational Services in Moorhead, Minnesota. I have been teaching in secondary schools since 1998. Before that, I taught at a business college. In my earlier career, I worked in retail and business management, selling shoes, flowers, and musical instruments and accessories.

Teaching and learning at Hope Street along with my students and teachers is one of the greatest joys of my life.

I have degrees from Minnesota State University in English Education, and Curriculum and Instruction. My PhD is in Curriculum and Teaching from the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
