Mrs. Tiffanie Beasley

Greetings, everyone!

Hailing from Leavenworth, Kansas, I began my teaching career in 2013 after obtaining a Bachelor's of Science in English education from the University of Kansas. This is my first year at Topeka High. Previously, I worked as a Service Learning Coordinator, Restorative Discipline Seminar Lead, Kansas Association for Youth lead sponsor, and 8th-grade Language Arts teacher. Presently I am a graduate student at Emporia University working towards a Master's of Library and Information Science. I also plan to pursue a Master's of Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. I have a son, Holden who loves to play soccer. I coach alongside his dad in a recreational league and love spending my time playing snake tag and working on goal kicks!

My teaching philosophy is grounded in restorative discipline practices, trauma-sensitive instruction, and frequent individual conferencing. My assessment practices rely upon standards-based grading. As a first-generation college student and the product of a single-parent household, I understand the incredible power of education in the life of a disenfranchised student -- the theories mentioned enable me to expose students to a rigorous and focused curriculum while also allowing for a culturally-sensitive, accessible experience for students in my room.
