Hello, my name is Will Ramsell and I’m currently your son or daughters teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. This is my seventh year of teaching here at Tecumseh High School.

Currently Teaching: AP Calculus AB and Pre-Calculus

Coach: THS Equation's Team (JV and Varsity)

This will be a very complex and busy year for me but it will also be a very rewarding and exciting year for students as I'm trying to incorporate many new techniques to help make every student successful. I have spent most of the summer preparing to make this year better, for both myself and the students. I have the best interest of your student at heart and if you don't believe me, you can ask many of the parents of the students from the past few years. I believe there is a calling out there for all of us and mine is teaching.
Over the course of the year, I plan on doing many different things with my class. In all of my classes, I plan on making sure all of my instruction coincide with common core. This was a very tedious and draining process, but I did it to make my classes even better than before. Besides teaching students the content material required for the class they have with me, I will also be looking at the bigger picture here. In my Pre-Calculus class, I will be giving daily SAT Practice Problems so students can feel comfortable with the question types that will be presented on the SAT. I'm looking at the bigger picture here. The better your child does on the SAT, the more likely they will get into the college of their choice and follow the career of their dreams.  I had a parent come up to me on the day of registration and thanked me for helping her son do extremely well on the ACT. It is moments like that that push and motivate me to make the sacrifices that I do to make sure I make an impact on a child's life. And now it will be directed towards the SAT. In my AP Calculus course, students will be exposed to AP questions everyday, on homework, quizzes, tests, warm-ups, and exit tickets.

Subject Integration

Math is a subject that is found throughout all subjects in school and life. You deal with math in History, English, Science, etc. Knowing how to graph formulas and equations in a math class can be critical when someone is working in a laboratory in a physics class or a chemistry class. Researchers in a medicine field rely heavily on math when conducting experiments to find cures for cancers and diseases. Understanding algebra in general, will allow someone to build on their problem solving skills, both in the classroom and also out there in the real world as well.

My goals for the class are to prolong continuous learning in life, preparedness for the future, responsibility, and to help students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills that they can use throughout life. This is very important to me. If you have any comments, concerns, or questions, feel free to contact me at any time. Thank you for your time and I’m looking forward to a fun filled semester with each and everyone of your students!!
