A fervid outdoor adventurer, Mr. Sumner is passionate about the natural world, its expansive resources, and the study of natural and environmental science. With a bachelor’s degree in the field of recreation resource management and also formerly an environmental planner and land use and recreation resource consultant, Mr. Sumner has now transitioned to public education where he enjoys passing on his love of science to the next generation. In his free time, he reads, ponders the night sky often, and volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America, as both a scoutmaster and a council climbing instructor.
