Teaching Online for Beginners (TOL4B) is a Massive Open Online Course or Whatever (MOOCow): Designed to help successful faculty members in higher education begin to teach online more comfortably, confidently, effectively, and skeptically.
This MOOCow offers a variety of brief introductory activities, tools, and materials to support participants’ first steps in this direction. Participants are also helped to develop their own plans for additional preparation for online teaching. We encourage participants to use our resources in whatever ways meet their own needs, interests, and schedules. However, for those who prefer a more course-like structure, we also offer a Path 1, a clearly specified and scheduled sequence of activities and tasks. See also, Goals, Who, How, How to begin?
|For those who prefer a well-sequenced guided set of learning activities - a "course". Explore the "Guided Path" syllabus and other available resources. Confirm that your own goals for this MOOCow and the likely time and effort you can commit fit well with the goals and activities scheduled in this "course." Begin to follow the scheduled sequence of activities. Request a mentor
Path 2: Supported DIY = Supported "Do-It-Yourself”

Path 3: DIY = Unsupported Do-It-Yourself
Define your own objectives and schedule. For those who prefer to wander through this MOOCow even more independently. Not eligible for mentor.
