Dear TJCA-CFA Families:

We would like to thank all of our dedicated families and staff for an amazing Fall Fest 2017! Your efforts helped our parent FORUM to raise over $13,000, which goes right back into our classrooms--thank you!! Please see a few highlights below.

If you had a great time at the Fall fest, you will not want to miss the return of the TJCA-CFA Renaissance Festival on Saturday, November 18 from 9AM-3PM! THERE IS FREE ADMISSION!
All are welcome to join our school family as we gather at our middle school practice field to celebrate the flourishing of knowledge. The Renaissance of the so-called middle ages should inspire us all. It will be a day of celebrating history, art, science, and literature. A celebration of the progress of humanity. It will also be a day of pure and simple good old fun.
Human Chess matches start at 10:30, 12:30, and 2. Archery tournament at 12noon. Sheep herding demonstrations all day! Dance and Drama student demonstrations throughout the day! Activity tickets will be sold for kids activities including gem mining, castle maze, climbing tower, and more! Delicious food will be sold for all! Lot’s of local crafts for perusal and purchase.
A particularly fun addition this year is a ‘war between houses.’ Two powerful houses will be competing to see who will rule the kingdom for the year to come; the noble house of Keller vs the barbarian horde of Foust. Come be a part of the struggle, as your participation can help decide the fate of a kingdom!

A big congratulations goes out again to our upper school academic teams!  The high school academic team’s A team won second place and qualified for NAQT and PACE National Competitions at the 20 team 2017 Tiger Town Throwdown at Clemson University on October 21st!  They only missed winning the championship round by 10 points!  Team members were Carter Plaster, John Kim, Turner White, Jonathan Shauf, and Cole Powell. John and Jonathan also finished in the top 10 individual score rankings.
The B team, composed solely of ninth graders, also had a strong showing and won several rounds.
Team members were Lori Griffith, Remy Fifield, Aiden Lail, Adam Short , and Reid Blanton.
It was especially good to see former team member Max Teddy, who is currently on the Clemson university academic team!   The Academic Teams welcome your financial donations in support of their travel and participation at National Tournaments.

Congratulations also goes out to our undefeated middle school football team, defeating Mountain Island Charter in the championship game in overtime on October 19th!

2020 Vision Update!

We have spent the last several weeks pulling together many documents required for our low rate financing application with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  This is a slow and tedious process, but we are making progress.  We now have an initial draft of the design details for our new 9th-12th grade building from our architectural firm, Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, and we are taking the next few weeks to get feedback from admin and staff.  Note that we have decided to postpone the November 9th meeting with our families until we have a few more details on the building and revised site design plan based on recent survey data provided to the architects. Please stay tuned for updates!
We are pleased to report to you we recently purchased two excellent buses to replace a couple of the older buses in our fleet!  They will be on the road soon!

As a friendly reminder, we respectfully request that our bus riding families consider a $50 per month donation to help keep our buses running.  If writing a check, please add 'bus donation' in the memo line, and mail to attn:  Finance Office or Mrs. White on the upper campus, or drop a check off at any of the offices.
