Dear TJCA-CFA Families:

We hope you are enjoying a great summer thus far!  We are sending you some important reminders and orientation dates in this July newsletter.  First, we want to remind all bus riding families that you MUST register for the 2017/18 school year ridership, even if you rode in the past.  It is important that we have correct updated rosters for each bus route.  If your child needs a bus spot, PLEASE register today at:


NOTE that failure to register before August 1 may result in loss of bus seating!

As a reminder, we respectfully request that our bus riding families consider a $50 per month donation to help keep our buses running.  If writing a check, please add 'bus donation' in the memo line, and mail to attn: 
Mrs. Shumate on the upper campus, or drop a check off at any of the offices.

 Thursday, August 17­ is the first day of school for our students!


On June 16th, fifteen archery club members from TJCA traveled to Metropolis, IL to compete in the 2017 Scholastic 3D Archery (S3DA) National Championship Tournament. Over 700 shooters from 16 states competed in a three day event featuring team and individual events. Students heard from guest speakers and college recruiters, who offer nice scholarships to seasoned archers!  Our Gryphons captured three national championship titles in their perspective divisions.

TJCA-CFA OFFICE SUMMER HOURS: 

8AM- 2PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FROM JUNE 8 THROUGH JULY 28.
IN ADDITION, THE SCHOOL OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED THE WEEKS OF JUNE 26-30 AND JULY 3-7 FOR FISCAL YEAR END MAINTENANCE.
BEGINNING AUGUST 1, THE OFFICES WILL BE OPEN 8AM-3PM MONDAY-FRIDAY




PLEASE TAKE NOTE!  TJCA-CFA has a college advising team to assist interested tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders and their families with the college admissions process. Parents of eleventh and tenth graders who wish

 " The Burgundy and Gold Scholarship Committee would like thank the TJCA family for our most successful year yet.  We are awarding $23,500 to eight seniors from the class of 2017!  Congratulations to all the seniors.  We are so proud of each of you and wish you all the best in your next endeavors.

- Grammar School Camps:   GRAMMAR SCHOOL SUMMER CAMPS


- Gardner- Webb University is excited to offer Math Academy for high school students who have completed Precalculus.  The Math Academy is a five-day event, July 24-28, 2017, with focus on applied mathematics in statistics, finance, cryptography, technology, and geometry.  Just $25 with limited space (only 15 students).  Applications  are due by June 30.

-Gardner-Webb University is offering a Computer Science Summer Camp July 31 - August 4, 2017 with focus on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, social and mobile networking, big data, and programming using Alice.  No previous computer science experience needed to enjoy this camp for just $25.  Limited to 12 students, so apply early.  Applications  are due by June 30.

-Gardner-Webb University Godbold School of Business will be hosting the B.E.S.T. “Bringing Entrepreneurs and Students Together” Program for high school students July 18 – July 21, 2017.  This program is geared to rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students and is being offered at no cost to the student.  See the GWU website for more info!
