Thursday, August 105PM-­ Kindergarten and First Grade Orientation at grammar school

Monday, August 14:  6:30PM­-7:30PM  ALL 6th grade and NEW 7th&8th Grade Orientation­, Leitner Auditorium

Monday, August 14:  5­-6PM ­ Grades 2 and 3 Orientation, Grammar School

Tuesday, August 15:  6:30PM-­7:30PM ALL 9th and NEW 10-12 Orientation in Leitner Auditorium

Tuesday, August 15:  5-­6PM, Grades 4 and 5 Orientation, Grammar School

Thursday, August 17­ is the first day of school for our students!

PLEASE NOTE:  All sixth grade and ninth grade students should plan to attend orientation so they can receive important information as they start middle school and high school, respectively. New students in grades 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12 should also plan on coming where they will be welcomed to our school and receive their class assignments.

For the upper campus, returning students in grades 7,8, 10,11, 12 are welcome to attend, but  not required. Please be assured that all class assignments will be communicated to you before the start of school.   Schedules will be mailed home on August 10, and access to Powerschool to see schedules will be available on August 14th.   In addition,  high school drivers can come to the school to purchase their parking passes from Officer Hernandez on Monday, August 14 between Noon and 5PM, or Tuesday, August 15 between 9AM-4PM.   

For SENIORS only!  A first seating for Senior Pictures will be held on Tuesday, August 15th from 9AM-Noon in the Leitner Audtorium, so you can make one trip to pick up your parking pass too.

Please do not forget to review the supply lists and required summer reading lists for grades 6-12, which are located on the website.

Cross Country Practice for runners in grades 9-12 begins August 1st @ 6 pm, and will continue each MondayThursday until school begins. Please meet at the middle school gym.

We want to remind all bus riding families that you MUST register for the 2017/18 school year ridership, even if you rode in the past.  It is important that we have correct updated rosters for each bus route.  If your child needs a bus spot, PLEASE register today at:


NOTE that failure to register before August 2 may result in loss of bus seating!

As a reminder, we respectfully request that our bus riding families consider a $50 per month donation to help keep our buses running.  If writing a check, please add 'bus donation' in the memo line, and mail to attn: 
Mrs. Shumate on the upper campus, or drop a check off at any of the offices.

PLEASE NOTE!  Due to the coming solar eclipse on August 21st, which is expected to peak at 2:39PM, we have decided to have a Noon Release for students so they can enjoy this rare event with family and friends.  Please be mindful of the need for eye protection when viewing the eclipse.

TJCA-CFA OFFICE SUMMER HOURS: 

BEGINNING AUGUST 1, Through August 16, THE OFFICES WILL BE OPEN 8AM-3PM MONDAY-FRIDAY; then 7:30-3:30 once school opens.




PLEASE TAKE NOTE!  TJCA-CFA has a college advising team to assist interested tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders and their families with the college admissions process. Parents of twelfth, eleventh and tenth graders who wish to make an appointment with Mr. Ziegler are welcome to contact him at jziegler@tjca.org.

 " The Burgundy and Gold Scholarship Committee would like thank the TJCA family for our most successful year yet.  We are awarding $23,500 to eight seniors from the class of 2017!  Congratulations to all the seniors.  We are so proud of each of you and wish you all the best in your next endeavors.
