Michelle has a wide experience working with children of different ages and diverse backgrounds. Holding her BA in Child Psychology and Master's in Art Therapy, Michelle currently teaches child and adult painting classes for BVSD while continuing to grow a private practice using art and play to help children heal. Michelle began making art at a young age and continues to explore herself through painting and sculpture. She views children as teachers as well, reminding her how exciting and new each moment of life really is. Michelle loves the way in which children engage with different art materials and enjoys providing them with the opportunities to do so.

Kelsey is currently working towards her Masters in Art Therapy at Naropa University. Originally from Virginia, she moved to Boulder after graduating from the University of Miami with a BA in Art and a Minor in Educational Psychology. She has previously worked as a kids' yoga instructor, swim coach, and camp counselor, and is currently a preschool teacher at the Boulder JCC. Though mixed media and ceramic sculpture are her primary mediums, exploring art materials is one of Kelsey's passions. From wood turning to photography, and fresco painting to yarn-spinning, Kelsey has a wide range of experience. She adores working with children because of the authenticity and candid creativity that they bring into every moment. Kelsey encourages engaging with one's creations and nurtures the whimsical and delightful qualities of art in both her own work and her teaching style.

Lisa has been teaching art for nine years, and has taught at both the middle and elementary level. Currently, Lisa is the Visual Arts teacher at The Studio School. Joining the school in its first year, Lisa established the Visual Arts program and collaborates with teachers on arts-integrated thematic units. Lisa holds her Master’s Degree in Integrated Teaching through the Arts, as well as her Colorado State Teaching License with an endorsement in Art. Lisa has a BFA from the University of Northern Colorado. Lisa has loved making art for as long as she can remember. Making art gave her a chance to explore and make connections with the world as a child, and then became a vehicle for expression as she grew. Lisa enjoys “tinkering” in many different types of art but always feels most comfortable with a paintbrush in hand.

Email: Lisa and her husband John welcomed a baby boy in June! We're excited that she's taking time to stay home with her new arrival and welcome him into the world. Please email christie@tinkerartstudio.com for any inquires initially intended for Lisa.
