We sincerely apologize for the confusion. The correct prices for the Turkey Lunch tomorrow will be:
$4.25 for Adults
$2.75 for Children who are visiting (not Markham Elementary students)
Markham Elementary students will stay at their same rate as usual.

Just a friendly reminder...all visitors will need to have their photo ID with them at the office.
Also, please allow yourself time to be scanned in and pay BEFORE heading to the cafeteria...and expect longer lunch lines. We truly appreciate your cooperation and patience! We want this to bespecial day!!

Our next "Happy Camper" character trait is: Gratitude!  Teachers will be watching  all week and will nominate students who exhibit exemplary skills with this trait!

Thank you to all those who came to our book fair!  We exceeded our goal of $4,000!

for putting on another awesome book fair for our students and their families!

Our Word of the Day program is underway!  Students are encouraged to write a sentence using the word of the day and drop it in their grade level bucket in the front hallway each morning for a chance to have their sentence read during announcements and receive a token for the treasure tower! Word of the Day Calendars are being given to the students to keep.  *Don't forget to write your first and last name with your sentence!

If you haven't signed up for Class Dojo, please do so!  We have pictures and reminders to share with you!  You can also follow us on Facebook! 

Important Safety Reminder:
If you're in the car loading line, you must have the car tags with your child(ren)'s names.  
These tags need to be visible in the windshield.  
If you come inside to pick up your child, you will need to show the tag.  
If you forgot the tag, you will need to park and sign your child out at the office counter.
Thank you for your cooperation!!  This is in place for the safety of all our students.

Attention Parents: Changes Effective November 21, 2016

A new system will be implemented for the safety of all students and staff members. Beginning Monday, November 21, 2016, a photo ID will need to be presented to the front office at each visit. The ID will be scanned and a visitor tag will be printed to be worn at all times while on campus. This process will only take a few minutes. When you attend an event on campus, please keep this in mind and plan accordingly. 

Acceptable forms of identification are: state driver’s license, state identification card, or a passport.

Our front door is unlocked from 7:15-3:45. All visitors must sign in during these hours.

Welcome to Markham Elementary! 

We are Happy Campers!

At Markham Elementary, we love our students, and our entire staff encourages of each and every one of them throughout the school year!  Ware dedicated to our students and strive to provide differentiated lessons by incorporating our awesome technology with creative, interactive, hands-on lessons in small groups. All of our students receive in-school tutorials for 45 minutes every day in small groups for reading and math.  Selected students also receive reading and math tutorials in small groups after school: Kinder-2nd 3:00-3:30pm--all year, and 3rd-5th 3:30-4:45 with snack included--closer to STAAR testing time.

Parents, have a question or concern?  Want to stay "in the loop?" Communication is always open with our staff. We can be reached by email, ClassDojo messages, phone, or a face-to-face conference. We also love to brag on our terrific students! We share pictures of them and the great things they're doing through ClassDojo as well as our Markham Elementary Facebook page. Please take part in these beneficial tools! If you need help signing up, please let us know!

Good attendance is important for academic success! Students are learning throughout the day, so try to make it a priority to have your children here on time and for the full day. If your child is absent, please send a written note the day they are able to return to school. Please be aware: three unexcused absences result in truancy and can be punishable by up to a $500.00 fine.

Snacks are available for all students to purchase through our cafeteria. Snacks and extra entree items will not be charged to your child's account. They must have funds available in their account. If they exceed 5 charges they will be served an alternative lunch consisting of peanut butter & jelly, fruit, and milk. 

Doors open at 7:15am. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:00am.

Lunch Schedule: PK & K @ 10:45; 1st @ 11:00; 2nd @ 11:15; 3rd @ 11:45; 4th-5th @ 12:00.

Car Tags must be shown in the car loading line. Otherwise you will have to park and sign them out. This is for the safety of all our kids and to help keep the car loading line moving.  We truly appreciate your cooperation!

Please call before 2:30pm for changes to parent pick-up or bus transportation.

Look in your child's folder every Wednesday for your child's graded papers.
