Principal's Message

Welcome Madrona Families to the 2018-2019 school year!

I am very excited to join the Madrona family as principal this year! It is such an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve as the leader of this amazing school community. All staff members here at Madrona are dedicated to the success of every child. We all work together to ensure that each child grows both academically and socially. I am energized by the possibilities of what is to come. My main goal is to continue to foster a community at Madrona where students wake up every morning excited to get to school!

Here at Madrona we utilize the PBIS approach to behavior in which staff recognize and reward positive behavior of our students. Our school rules - Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Kind are reinforced in all areas and students are taught school-wide expectations. We also recognize the positive behavior of our students during our morning assemblies.

Family support and involvement in school greatly impacts your student's success. There are many ways that families can get involved in their child's education. Joining the Parent Teacher Support Group (PTSG), Site Council and volunteering in the classroom are a few of the ways.

Students need to be here to learn and we are putting a school-wide focus on attendance this year. Of course we all get sick at times, and so we ask for your support in making attending school a priority for your family. Please help us by talking with your child about the importance of regular attendance.

I look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child's success. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have. We have all been working hard getting the school grounds and classrooms ready for those smiling faces to walk through the door on the first day of school. September 4th is right around the corner. See you soon!
