General Music Information

Mini Music Masters Classes for Grades K-2 offered:

Mini Music Masters - K-2 kids with little or no experience. An introduction to the violin, viola, or percussion instruments. Your child will learn the basic fundamentals of music, performance, and rhythm in a fun and exciting way.


Mini-Percussion for K-2 with little or no experience (in-class instruments provided; no rental needed)


Keyboard K 
- For Kinders with little or no experience. Keyboard classes are held a
t Applied Music Studio on Thursdays or Fridays from 2-3 p.m. 

Keyboard 1-2 - For grades 1-2 with little or no experience.  Keyboard classes are held at Applied Music Studio on Thursdays or Fridays from 3-4 p.m. 


Jump Start Elementary School Classes for Grades 3-5 offered:


Band - 3rd to 5th grade students with little or no experience.  

Strings - 3rd to 5th grade students with little or no experience.  


Guitar - For kids with little or no experience. Guitar Classes for grades 3-5 at Applied Music Studio on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m.  (Kids can play acoustic or electric guitar or electric bass.)


LAYC Variety Band - For grades 3-5 with one/more year of experience. Together, kids will play a variety of music genres and styles (Classical, Pop, Jazz, etc.). Students will also have new performance opportunities in the community this year.  Additional Satellite class at Hopkinson Elementary on Thursdays - open to students from all schools from 3:30-4:30 p.m. 

 LAYC String Ensemble - For grades 3-5 with one/more year of experience. Together, kids will play a variety of music genres and styles (Classical, Pop, Rock, Jazz, etc.). Students will also have new performance opportunities in the community this year. 


NEW -- LAYC Rock Band!! Students with one+ years of experience can audition to be part of the LAYC Rock Band. Lessons will be held weekly at Applied Music Studio.


INSTRUMENTS

Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, Trombone, Electric Bass, Percussion, Keyboard, Drums, and more.
