Alumni on the Move

The Boys to Men Enrichment program would like congratulate alumni Timothy Walker for his inspirational journey. Timothy went from receiving our Man of the Year award in his culminating year of the program, to meeting President Obama and receiving a $10,000 scholarship from Marian Wright Edelman and The Children's Defense Fund. Our young men DO defy the odds and achieve excellence when properly nurtured and supported.  Congratulations young sir... your community is proud of you.

Reading: Long Way Gone

Currently our young men are reading a "Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Solider." This novel describes the struggles and experiences of young boys soldiers in Sierra Leone.  This ongoing tragedy is one that our young men can relate to at times.

Thanksgiving Day 2014 - Giving Back

This past Thanksgiving, current and former members of our program volunteered their morning to help feed the homeless on Skid Row.  This is a tradition going on 9 years.  Many of our young men and women have graduated and come back to participate in this and other events.  We are thankful for the TYME these young people re-invest in our communities.

About Us

The T.Y.M.E. Foundation is an organization based on the principle of teaching young men excellence. “Boys to Men” is the T.Y.M.E Foundation's youth outreach program centered at LAUSD’s John Muir Middle School that serves the metro Los Angeles area. The enrichment program was founded on three principles: scholastic achievement through tutoring; character building through extra-curricular activities and events; and personal development through counseling, leadership seminars, and community service. Our goal is to assist inner city male youths in developing good judgment, self-esteem, integrity, and self-sufficiency as they matriculate from boys to young men.

Our Mission

The Mission of the TYME Foundation is to develop positive young male leaders to prevent the rise in gang affiliation, juvenile crime, and high drop out rates.  Through our Boys to Men Enrichment Program, we Offer tutoring, extracurricular activities, and counseling.  After attending the the program these boys will value education, be more confident, and have a positive perspective for the future.
