Our Mission

The NCLA Parent Teacher Organization

Our Mission

Support our students, teachers and staff with volunteering of time and talent and to

provide financial support for programs, materials and equipment outside the regular school budget.

Encourage our students, teachers and staff to excel in creating the leaders of the future.

Celebrate the accomplishments of The NCLA.

The Beginning

In late July of 2013 an initial interest meeting was held for parents of the first students to attend The NCLA. Being a brand new school there was not an organization in place for the parents to work with the school and lend their help and support to the students, teachers and staff. By the end of the meeting it was decided to form a PTO, membership dues were set and a temporary leadership team was formed to move us through the initial start up.

The temporary leadership team met, broke into some smaller committees and got to work. By the first PTO meeting on September 16, 2013 the leadership team had registered our name with the county, opened a bank account, drafted Bylaws and a Conflict of Interest Policy and began working on the application for the IRS 501(c)3 status. A slate of nominees was presented to the membership for a vote and the first officers of The NCLA PTO were elected. Committee chairs were appointed and we were off and running.

It was tough starting from nothing and having no money to work with but the dedicated, hard-working parents of The NCLA raised almost $20,000.00 in ten weeks. These parents have proven that they are willing to do what it takes to make sure our children have the best education possible. We look forward to many years of success. Go Falcons!
