The Coach House, Porlock Weir
The Coach House is ideal for couples looking to get away from it all with its unique modern style coupled with traditional charm. Only a stone's throw from the harbour at Porlock Weir, The Coach House is a fabulous base for walking, sightseeing and relaxing holidays!

The Coach House is comprised of a light and airy double bedroom with king-sized bed and adjoining bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is a large open-plan living room and dining area with a stone flagged floor and adjacent spacious kitchen. From the kitchen window you can take in the wonderful view of the Bristol Channel across to Porlock Bay.

The Coach House is adjoined to The Stable Block, another holiday property, which also sleeps 2 guests.

Appliances and equipment
The Coach House kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, counter-top freezer, microwave, electric oven and ceramic hob.  Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
A television (with Freeview), DVD player and CD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. A hairdryer is provided for your convenience.
A cot and/or high chair is available; please request these items when booking so we can make sure they are present for your arrival.

Please note we are removing SkyTV from January 2017 in this property as few guests seem to use it.

Electricity and heating
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Coach House has underfloor heating which is controlled by a thermostat and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.

Linen and towels
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Bed linen is not supplied for the cot.

Other provisions
A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available.
Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and surface cleaner will be present in the property.  One or two toilet rolls will be provided.

Outside the property
Directly outside is a private decking area with seating for you to enjoy the magnificent scenery and listen to the sea. The Coach House and The Stable Block share a private garden.

Parking
Secure off-road parking for one car is available directly outside the property, this courtyard is shared by The Coach House and The Stable Block (one parking space for each property).

Dogs
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £25 will be added to your invoice. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time.

Smoking
The Coach House is strictly non-smoking.

Local amenities
The harbour is the 'centre' of Porlock Weir, which is less than 1/4 mile from The Coach House.  There are two restaurants (The Cafe and Miller's at the Anchor), a pub (all three are dog-friendly) and a range of individual shops such as tea rooms, Exmoor Glass and Studio 7 (imported beautiful textiles).

The village of Porlock is approximately 1.5 miles from The Coach House and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms.

Many of the shops in Porlock Weir and Porlock are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season.

Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 7 miles from The Coach House.  Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.

Arrival and departure
The property will be ready from 2 pm on the day of your arrival.  Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Changeover days
The Coach House is available for week breaks during peak periods.  Short breaks of three or four nights (from Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday) are available at other times.  Please see our availability page for further details.
