Dunns Cottage, West Porlock
Dunns Cottage is full of character and the perfect destination for families, or for couples requiring more spacious accommodation.   Situated in the small hamlet of West Porlock between Porlock Weir and the village of Porlock, Dunns Cottage enjoys outstanding views across open fields and the marshes towards the sea.

Dunns Cottage has undergone a recent refurbishment; entrance to the property is via a small porch which leads into the kitchen. The kitchen was completed refitted recently, as has the new utility room at the far end of the kitchen (with toilet and shower).  The spacious sitting room enjoys views towards the coast and is complimented by an adjacent dining room where a telescope is situated to help you see the wonderful array of birds and wildlife on the marshlands of Porlock Bay.  Upstairs are two large king-sized double bedrooms and a smaller bedroom containing a small double bed.  A new upstairs bathroom has been added to the property, it is comprised of bath, shower and toilet, plus a separate second upstairs toilet with hand basin.

Appliances and equipment
Dunns Cottage is fitted with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and electric cooker with hob. Other equipment includes cookware, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.

A television (with BT Sport and Netflix), DVD player and CD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property.

Electricity and heating
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Dunns Cottage benefits from central heating throughout the property, plus a multi-fuel stove in the living room; kindling, matches and one basket of logs will be provided.  Additional logs can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock.

Linen and towels
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.

Other provisions
A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available.
Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property.  One or two toilet rolls will be provided.

Outside the property
Dunns Cottage has a private garden which is landscaped over two levels behind the property plus a seating area to the side from where beautiful views of Porlock Bay can be enjoyed. 

Parking
Off-road parking is available directly outside the property on the driveway; there is space for one large car, or two small cars.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £25 will be added to your invoice. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time.

Smoking
Dunns Cottage is strictly non-smoking.

Local amenities
The harbour is the 'centre' of Porlock Weir, which is less than 3/4 mile from Dunns Cottage.  There are two restaurants (The Cafe and Miller's at the Anchor), a pub (all three are dog-friendly) and a range of individual shops such as tea rooms, Exmoor Glass and Studio 7 (imported beautiful textiles).

The village of Porlock is approximately 1 mile from Dunns Cottage and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent shops and tea rooms.

Many of the shops in Porlock Weir and Porlock are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season.

Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 6.5 miles from Dunns Cottage.  Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.

Arrival and departure
The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival.  Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Changeover days
Dunns Cottage is available for week breaks (Friday to Friday) during peak periods.  Short breaks of three or four nights (from Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday) are available at other times.  Please see our availability page for further details.
