The Lucky Mr. & Mrs. Watson

A lovely couple from Tucson, Arizona say winning one of the biggest sweepstakes winnings is "stupendous" as they plan the first class trip of a lifetime.

Colin and Chris Watson were handed a cheque for $4,500,000.00 after scooping the jackpot on January 10, 2012.

Chris, 43, a psychiatric nurse, said they were "so buzzed" that they sat up all night in disbelief, watching the sun come up as they waited for The American Shopper's Award phone lines to open to authorize their delivery.

"We even opened a bottle of wine and I don't drink. That's how excited we were," she said.

"The news gradually hit us. The American Shopper's Award line was closed for the night but we couldn't sleep. We sat up all night and saw dawn come round the next morning - we were tickled pink. I even had a glass of white wine which is something I normally only do at Christmas. It really is unbelievable."

It seems mammoth, it seems absolutely fantastical…but at the same time we're not scared of it. It’s going to be fantastic and it's going to be so much fun.Chris Watson

Mrs Watson said the (ASA) operator was as excited as she was when she finally placed the call when the lines opened at 9am.

After a night in front of the television watching CSI, she got a notification call of the draw results but couldn't believe what she was hearing, she said.

Nigel & Sharon

After winning the massive sweepstakes award, 38-year-old Sharon, her 46-year-old husband Nigel and their two sons Rhys and Lewis never have to worry about money again, and neither does Sharon's dad John Morris.

When quizzed about her huge winnings from The American Shopper's Award, Sharon attributed her life-changing win to her dad. She explained how John paid for Sharon and her family to enjoy a week at the seaside in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

And it was while in Virginia that Sharon bought an item that gave her the winning entry to The American Shopper's Award. 'The win was all thanks to dad's generosity,' she told reporters recently. Unfortunately, John is currently in hospital after not feeling well.

'We had to cut the trip short to see him in hospital as he wasn't very well,' continued Sharon. 'But he's recovering and we were thrilled to tell him of his amazing gift. We'll make sure that we return the favour when he is better.'

As to what else the lucky couple want to spend their new fortune on, Nigel said that although they have no major plans, he'd like to take Sharon on a long overdue trip to Venice and perhaps treat himself to a yacht.
