What is this Google Apps thing Anyway?

Google Apps just refers to all of the applications that Google has developed (or bought out!). Therefore Google Calendar, Google Drive, Gmail and YouTube are all Google Apps. Google Sites is also an app and is what I am using to create this website (students and staff can create web pages very easily with this).

Google Apps for Education (GAFE) is a special version of Google Apps designed to slot in to schools easily. It means that we run it within our own domain (tgs.school.nz) and we can synchronise it with the school network so that every staff member and student automatically has a Google Account generated. It also means that you can look people up in this domain whether they be students or staff.

An additional advantage of Google Apps for Education is the newly developed Google Classroom. See here to find out more about that. Otherwise browse the menu on the left to find what you are looking for. If you are new to all this then please click here.
