TESDA joins the 122nd Labor Day Celebration of DOLE
TESDA Antique joined the 122nd Labor Day Job Fair hosted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Antique last May 1, 2024 at 3rd floor Robinsons Place, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.
Three (3) overseas companies and twenty-seven (27) local businesses participated in the job fair. Additionally, various government agencies set up help desks to assist clients with various transactions. The event was organized in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Jose de Buenavista and held in conjunction with the Tiringbanay Festival celebrations on the same day.
TESDA Antique Provincial Office, thru its Help Desk, provided assistance to clients which include the processing of national certificates and application for training programs. Ms. Cristine Marie S. Sedigo, Senior TESDS and PO Scholarship Focal, discussed the available scholarships offered by TESDA to DOLE-TUPAD beneficiaries at both Robinsons Place Antique Ground Floor and Brgy. San Pedro, San Jose, Antique.
TESDA Antique and Regional Office VI conducted the distribution of starter toolkits and scholarship allowances under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) FY 2023 to TESDA scholars at the Win Gatchalian Gym, Antique National School, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique last March 16, 2024.
The said event was led by Senator Loren Legarda and Lone District of Antique Congressman Antonio Agapito ‘AA’ Legarda during their three-day visit which included the distribution of various projects and livelihood assistance in Antique. Also present was TESDA Region VI Regional Director, Florencio F. Sunico, Jr.
Toolkits distributed included twenty-five (25) cordless drill package for scholars who finished training in Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II at the Provincial Training Center – Hamtic and forty-five (45) packs of electric ovens and hand mixers for scholars in Bread and Pastry Production NC II at Advance Central College, Inc. Twenty (20) scholars trained in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I at Westtrade Technical Training and Assessment Center also received training support fund allowances during the event.
