Sec.  Mamondiong meet with stakeholders during the regional consultation and dialogue in Bicol

    Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director General Guiling A. Mamondiong along with DDG for TESD Operations Alvin S. Feliciano and DDG for Communities and LGUs Atty. Diosdado O. Padilla flew all the way from Manila to meet with the stakeholders in Bicol during the consultation and dialogue held at La Piazza Hotel, Tahao Road, Legazpi City on November 14, 2016.

Sec. Mamondiong announced that a total no. of 30,000 scholarship grants are allotted for the bicol region starting November 2016 until April 2017 with a corresponding budget of Php150M which is the biggest amount allotted for the region alone.

More so, Sec. Mamondiong mentioned that TESDA is looking into the possibilities of addressing the concern of public and private technical vocational institutions in the low cost of assessment/assessor’s fee, low training costs and lacking equipment for tech voc trainings. He assured the technical vocational institutions that TESDA will always assist them. “Kung wala ang tech-voc institutions wala ang TESDA. Aalalay sainyo ang TESDA. We need each other.”

Present in the event were the Local Government Units, Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents, public and private Technical Vocational Institution Heads, Presidents of State Universities and Colleges and officials from various National Government Agencies of which about 275 participants from the different offices and schools from the bicol region attended the dialogue.

The said consultation was conducted to provide opportunity for stakeholders to meet and dialogue with Sec. Mamondiong in addressing concerns on TESDA's programs, policies and services in adherence to TESDA's 17-point reform and development agenda.
