ABECIA talks at barangay synchronize assembly

Vocational School Administrator II, Mr. Hilario S. Abecia was invited by Brgy. Capt. Christopher Rodriguez to speak at Bonbon Barangay Synchronize Assembly, October 6, 2017.

Mr. Abecia presented to the barangay folks the Sen. Loren Legarda Scholarship Program where he emphasized the three qualifications to be offered namely: Driving NCII, Cookery NCII and Trainers Methodology I that cover the scholarship program.

He also made mention that the programs offered can be enjoyed by everyone who are interested to avail specifically the people of Barangay Bonbon giving priority, of course, to those enrolees with complete requirements submitted.

He also commended those graduates from Barangay Bonbon who are successfully working within and outside the island. 

PD Simborios inducts CSAT Alumni Officers

TESDA – Camiguin Provincial Director John D. Simborios led the induction of newly elected CSAT Alumni Officers, Saturday, August 26, 2017.

“You [referring to each elected officers] are the role model of CSAT. Your co-alumni will look up to you. Wherever you go, to seek for employment, remember to carry well your institution’s name. Apply your learning in all ways possible so it will not die”, few of the inspiring thought from PD Simborios for the alumni officers to live by before congratulating them.

CSAT holds 1st Grand Alumni Homecoming

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin – The Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT) held its first Grand Alumni Homecoming with the theme: “Commitment to Service through Action and Teamwork” last August 25-26, 2017.

The celebration kicked off 5:30 a.m. on the first day with a thanksgiving mass at San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Church and was participated by approximately 300 students and alumni. 

The alumni opening was graced by outgoing TESDA Provincial Director John Simborios, Mrs. Georgita Abesamis, former School Administrator, Mrs. Felipa B. Badoy, former Vocational Instruction Supervisor(VIS), and Mr. Yñigo Jesus D. Romualdo, representing his brother Hon. Cong. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, as the Keynote Speaker.

A short presentation revealing the humble journey of CSAT was witnessed by everybody. Making the celebration more festive were the episodes of highlighted events that mirrored the institution’s endeavors to extend service to Camiguinons beyond classroom skills training. Emphasis was put on producing entrepreneurs and skilled trainees that is globally competitive and competent, keeping a culture of excellence.

“Learning should not stop after you graduate but how you applied your learning after graduation”, said PD Simborios which served as a challenge to the alumni.

“Indeed, its highly appropriate that CSAT alumni will become our active partners”, words from Mr. Romualdo which added inspiration and motivation to the alumni and the trainees.

Among the highlights of the event were the Open House (where everyone is invited to visit the different workstations), the Entrepreneurial Training, Fun Run, Enhancement Training and the Election of Alumni Officers.

The alumni homecoming would not have been made possible without the untiring support of CSAT’s active industry partners, stakeholders, parents, alumni and trainees. The institution was overwhelmed with their positive response.

CSAT trainers and processing officers attend calibration

The Camiguin School of Arts and Trades trainers, assessors and processing officers attended the Calibration of the Competency Assessment and Certification revised Operating Procedures and Development and Deployment of Competency Assessment Tools at Camiguin Polytechnic State College last April 27, 2017.

The Calibration was sponsored by Tesda – Camiguin Provincial Office with the presence of Mrs. Fabiana Abuzo and Mr. Alwin Artemeo O. Barquez Jr. The calibration was participated by approximately 30 assessors from private and public training institutions around the island.

Among the important matters that were discussed were: The request for compliance audit of the Assessment Center and what are to be audited, Updated Fire Safety, Number of Competency Assessment Tools (CATS) and the loading of new applicant for assessor.

Mrs. Abuzo stressed out that the submission of all the required documents for the conduct of a National Assessment should be 5 days before the final assessment date. The updated Self-Assessment Guide (SAG) was also introduced. In addition to, those who are applying for Assessorship is required to load 10 assesse with the lead assessor. 

Election of Officers for Association of Assessors (Camiguin Chapter) then followed with Mrs. Erlinda B. Lopina, Assessor for Cookery NCII, Front Office Services NCII, elected as Vice President and Mrs. Alma G. Democer, Assessor of Cookery NCII, FBS NCII elected as Secretary. 

The Calibration ended with the giving of Certificates by Mr. Alwin Alwin Artemeo O. Barquez Jr, and assisted by Mrs. Fabiana Abuzo. 

CSAT celebrates 19th Founding Anniversary, the unusual way

The Camigiun School of Arts and Trades(CSAT) celebrated its 19th Foundation anniversary on February 8-10, 2017 with a different kind of celebration -not the usual, not festive nor grandiose.

The three-day celebration includes the Thanksgiving Mass, Tree Planting, APACC Criterion Review, Discussion on Improving STAR Rating Documents, Discussion of NCIII qualifications and the Signing of DTS Accreditation of Industry Partners.

February 8, the whole team, headed by Mr. Hilario S. Abecia went to Panghiawan, Catarman for the Signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the institution’s partner for the Greening Program, Mr.  Tomasito “Boy”Amontos. CSAT employees planted 30 Macapuno Trees as mentioned in the MOA. A picnic lunch then followed.

APACC Criterion Review and the improvement of the STAR Rating Documentation was given emphasis as well on the 9th of February. The area with lesser points was stressed out by Mr. Abecia, emphasizing teamwork and total dedication of the assigned personnel. 
Discussion of the NCIII qualifications (Food and Beverage Services and Housekeeping) and the signing of DTS Accreditation of Industry Partners with the theme: “Bridging the gap between graduate skills and industry needs” then followed. Among the present industry partners were Ms. Connie Adajar of Bahay Bakasyunan sa Camiguin (BBC), Ms. Snooky Tubiano of PARAS Beach Resort and Ms. Rosalyn Sevilla of Camiguin Highland Resort (CHR). 

All being well, the celebration ended with a thanksgiving mass at San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Church.
