Rearing a special child is a very challenging job for a mother like Ms. Arcilla G. Subibi. Though she is a Baccalaureate Degree holder, she still desires to learn a skill believing that it will help her earn more income. So when the training opportunity came via the Office of Congressman Florencio C. Garay of the 2nd District of Surigao del Sur announcing a training for Massage Therapy for free, she readily availed of the scholarship grant.

Taking the training seriously, Ms. Subibi successfully made it during the National Competency Assessment Level II. For two months she continued to enhance her skills in massage therapy and offered her services free of charge. Her intense desire to become one of the trainers of the same qualification made her decide to undergo the Trainer’s Methodology (TM1) and Assessment Methodology (AM1). She deservingly passed the requirements of the said training. It was a breakthrough for her, and more clients came.

She then decided to organize the Bislig Massage Therapists Association (BISMASTA) with its massage clinic now located at the heart of Bislig City.

At present, Ms. Subibi’s source of income is out of her earnings in the massage clinic that they put up, and from the her home services with a total minimum amount of one thousand pesos (P 1,000.00) per day . Aside from that, she is also earning a minimum of Five Thousand Pesos (P 5,000.00) honorarium as trainer per training conducted. Truly, it helped augment her family’s income. Ms. Subibi says “in whatever endeavor, do it with passion and dedication. Exercise professionalism and integrity. Always strive for quality and excellence, and success will surely follow”.
