BUTUAN CITY, June 18 – The Regional Office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Caraga will be conducting a National Assessment Day on June 26-27, 2018.

This was learned from TESDA Caraga Regional Director Florencio F. Sunico, Jr., during a media conference held today at TESDA Caraga Regional Office.

Since this is a nationwide simultaneous activity, RD Sunico asked the help of the press community to further expand public awareness of TESDA Competency Assessment and Certification Program through the conduct of the said event.

TESDA Circular No. 40 series of 2018 states that the National Assessment Day is a two-day simultaneous conduct of free assessment and certification services. This is in line in with TESDA’s thrust, under Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong, to provide enhanced opportunities to TVET graduates and workers. This activity will be conducted in all accredited assessment centers in partnership with companies and industries, local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs) and other TVET stakeholders, the first time that it is being done across all assessment centers in the country.

The activity is aimed to inform the Caraganons on the programs and interventions initiated by TESDA in promoting industry acceptance and recognition on the value of certification resulting to the enhancement of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The free assessment and certification services shall be open to interested uncertified industry workers who have work experiences to perform competencies, career shifters and unemployed adults who are looking for jobs, TVET graduates and teachers, trainers interested to be certified TVET Trainers and/or TESDA Accredited Assessor.

The activity is also in support to the “Build, Build, Build” Program of President Rodrigo R. Duterte giving priority to qualifications under the Construction Sector (Masonry, Carpentry and the like). However, all qualifications shall be made available for assessment on the identified dates. Interested applicants may visit the nearest TESDA Provincial Offices for further details.
