BUTUAN CITY, April 27 – On the second day of his two-day, three-province visit to Caraga, Director General Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong, led the groundbreaking ceremonies of the Indigenous People (IP) dormitory in Agusan Del Sur.

Datu Mansa-ulog Nilo D. Manpatilan, Provincial IP Focal of Agusan Del Sur, has expressed his sincerest gratitude to TESDA and its leaders for making its commitment to provide accessible skills training to their people into a reality. It can be recalled that during the Secretary’s visit here in February, he vowed to allocate P10M funds for the construction of an IP Dormitory in Agusan Del Sur in response to the request of the IP chieftains due to the geographical and topographical difficulties in accessing skills training in the province.

The Secretary led the ceremonial capsule laying together with the Provincial Governor of Agusan Del Sur, Hon. Adolph Edward G. Plaza, ably represented by the Hon. Vice Governor Samuel E. Tortor, witnessed by Datu Mansa-ulog Nilo D. Manpatilan, COL Andres C. Centino, Brigade Commander of the 401st Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army, TESDA Caraga officials headed by RD Florencio F. Sunico, Jr and host province, TESDA Agusan del Sur Provincial Director Braulio P. dela Pena, Jr.

The capsule contained copies of the building perspective and plan of the construction of the IP dormitory. The groundbreaking ceremonies is yet another milestone in making TESDA services more accessible to the marginal sectors of the community. (LME, TESDA Caraga)
