Flower Show

There will be no Flower Show in 2020!

We had already selected a Theme: “Beauty in the eye of the beholder...a Gardener’s VISION”

And had selected the date of May 2; however, the CRC was reserved for that date by someone else.

After looking at other dates and different venues, it was decided that we will try again to get the CRC in 2021.

Will there be a Flower Show in 2021?

That depends on the status of the Coronavirus.
A tentative date has been chosen: April 22-24, 2021

Note--our past show is described below and our next show will follow the same format.

Temecula Valley Garden Club Presents 33rd Flower Show and Plant Sale

Gardens will be bursting with blooms just in time for the Temecula Valley Garden Club’s Flower Show and Plant Sale.  This popular community event will take place at the Community Recreation Center, 30875 Rancho Vista Road, Temecula, on Saturday, April 27, 2019. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is free.

The theme for this year is "Poetry in Nature".

The show will feature hundreds of horticultural and educational exhibits, as well as unique floral designs.  The Garden Club invites everyone in the community to participate in the show either as an exhibitor or as a guest.

Each of the three divisions of the show, horticulture, design, and special exhibits, including photography and youth entries, offers a unique experience to both exhibitors and visitors.  The horticulture division provides an opportunity for local gardeners to share their gardening successes and for visitors to see what grows well in the Temecula Valley.  The design division gives exhibitors an opportunity to express their creativity through arrangement of plant materials and provides viewers with inspiration to create their own designs at home.

The special exhibits division includes youth and educational displays.  In the youth exhibits young people demonstrate what they have learned in either horticulture or design, and share that knowledge through their exhibits with show visitors.  Educational exhibits aim to instruct and inform the public on various phases of garden club work or other areas of community interest through large table top displays. Public entries are greatly encouraged in all divisions following the rules as defined in the Rules pages (see attached files below).

The TVGC is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., Pacific Region and California Garden Clubs, Inc., Palomar District.  As such, the Flower Show is fully accredited and meets all requirements of a Standard Flower Show as set by NGC.  Exhibits are judged by an NGC accredited panel of judges.  Many awards, including ribbons and trophies, will be given in all divisions where merited.  National and Club awards will be presented at 1:00 p.m.

Opportunity Drawings will take place after the presentation of awards.  Winners, if not present at the time, will be contacted to receive their prizes.
We always have some very nice items donated.  For a list of items and pics, go to Opportunity Drawing page.

In addition to enjoying the show exhibits, visitors will have an opportunity to shop at the plant sale.  Here hundreds of quality plants and other garden related items will be available for bargain prices.  See some examples on the Plant Sale page.

Master Gardeners will be available for consultation on all gardening questions.

Complimentary refreshments will also be served.

The TVGC members have worked diligently to present a lovely Flower Show for the enjoyment of the community.  It is the goal of the club to encourage an interest in all phases of home gardening, and to promote better horticultural practices as well as conservation of natural resources within the community.
